( Buy from Amazon) ( Buy from Element Games)īut, another Warhammer 40k tank that is equally versatile, if not more so, is the Exorcist. The Castigator’s main benefit is the cannon which is very versatile, being incredibly long range (72″) and good at both armor penetration and infantry killin’. They’re all built on the Rhino chassis and they’re all Toughness 7, 11 Wounds, 3+ Save. But let’s look at the main three: the Castigator, the Exorcist and the Immolator. The Sisters of Battle have flavor coming out their… pipe organs. This one is CLOSE and it’s mainly because of flavor. The Vindicator isn’t flashy–even the model is just on a Rhino chassis–but it is a workhorse that gets the job done. This is the reason why I’m placing it ahead of the second best tank, the Gladiator Valiant ( Buy from Amazon) ( Buy from Element Games), which dishes out a pretty significant amount of damage with its two multi-meltas and las-talons: because, although the Valiant can do a lot of damage and is tough, it’s not AS tough, and it’s nearly twice the points of the Vindicator. With a Toughness 8 and 3+ save it’s already good, but add to that the Siege Sheild and it adds +1 to every armor saving throw. The downside is that this cannon only has a 24″ range, and I would think that would be to its detriment because it has to get so close to the enemy, but it is a TOUGH little tank.
